These Terms and Conditions govern the provision of pond cleaning and maintenance services by PondCleaningKent.co.uk ("we", "our", or "us"). By booking our services, you agree to be bound by these terms.
1. Services
1.1 Service Description
We provide professional pond cleaning and maintenance services, including but not limited to:
- Pond cleaning and sludge removal
- Algae and blanket weed removal
- Filter and pump cleaning and maintenance
- Water quality testing and treatment
- Seasonal pond maintenance
1.2 Service Area
We provide pond cleaning services across Kent. Service availability in specific areas is subject to confirmation at the time of enquiry.
2. Quotations and Pricing
2.1 Quotes
All quotes provided are estimates based on the information you supply. Final pricing may vary if the condition of the pond or scope of work differs significantly from what was described.
2.2 Quote Validity
Quotes are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless otherwise stated.
2.3 Additional Work
If additional work is identified during the service that was not included in the original quote, we will inform you and seek approval before proceeding. Any additional work will be charged accordingly.
3. Bookings
3.1 Confirmation
A booking is confirmed when you accept our quote and we agree on a date for the service. We will send you confirmation of your booking via email, phone, or WhatsApp.
3.2 Scheduling
We will make every effort to attend at the agreed time. However, service times are estimates and may be affected by previous appointments, traffic, or unforeseen circumstances. We will notify you as soon as possible if there are any delays.
4. Cancellations and Rescheduling
4.1 Customer Cancellations
If you need to cancel or reschedule your booking, please give us as much notice as possible. We request a minimum of 48 hours' notice for cancellations or changes.
4.2 Late Cancellations
Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice may be subject to a cancellation fee to cover our time and travel costs.
4.3 Our Cancellations
In rare circumstances, we may need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. If this happens, we will contact you as soon as possible and arrange an alternative date at your convenience.
5. Weather Conditions
5.1 Adverse Weather
Pond cleaning services may need to be rescheduled due to adverse weather conditions, including heavy rain, storms, extreme cold, or conditions that would make working unsafe or ineffective.
5.2 Rescheduling
If weather causes a cancellation, we will reschedule your appointment at the earliest convenient date at no additional charge.
6. Payment
6.1 Payment Terms
Payment is due upon completion of the service unless otherwise agreed in advance. We accept bank transfer and cash. Please discuss payment options with us when booking.
6.2 Deposits
For larger jobs or first-time customers, we may request a deposit to secure your booking. This will be confirmed at the time of booking.
6.3 Late Payment
We reserve the right to charge interest on overdue invoices at the statutory rate.
7. Customer Responsibilities
7.1 Access
You are responsible for ensuring we have safe and clear access to your pond on the agreed date. This includes:
- Unlocking gates and providing any necessary keys or codes
- Ensuring paths to the pond are clear and accessible
- Securing any pets that may interfere with our work
7.2 Information
Please provide accurate information about your pond, including its size, type, fish stock, and any known issues. This helps us prepare appropriately and provide accurate quotes.
7.3 Electrical Safety
If your pond has electrical equipment (pumps, UV clarifiers, etc.), please ensure it is properly installed and safe. We may decline to work on equipment that appears unsafe.
7.4 Hazards
Please inform us of any hazards in or around your property that we should be aware of.
8. Liability
8.1 Our Liability
We carry public liability insurance and take all reasonable care when working on your pond. We are committed to performing our services professionally and carefully.
8.2 Fish and Wildlife
While we take every precaution to protect fish and wildlife during cleaning, pond maintenance can sometimes cause stress to aquatic life. We cannot be held liable for the loss of fish or other pond life where we have followed appropriate procedures and exercised reasonable care.
8.3 Pre-existing Conditions
We are not liable for issues caused by pre-existing conditions in your pond, including but not limited to: existing disease in fish, structural problems with the pond liner or construction, or damage caused by equipment we did not install or maintain.
8.4 Limitation
Our liability is limited to the value of the services provided. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
9. Guarantees
9.1 Workmanship
We stand behind the quality of our work. If you are not satisfied with the service provided, please contact us within 7 days and we will work to resolve the issue.
9.2 No Guarantees on Biological Factors
Due to the biological nature of ponds, we cannot guarantee specific outcomes regarding water clarity, algae growth, or fish health following a clean. Many factors beyond our control affect pond conditions.
